Facts to Know

Reveille and retreat infographic

Reveille and retreat – One of the military’s oldest and most-solemn traditions is to honor the American flag. Reveille is played every weekday on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base at 7:30 a.m. to signify start of the duty day. At 5 p.m., retreat is played – followed by the national anthem – as the duty day comes to an end. Next time you hear them, think before dashing to your vehicle or running back into the building.
