COVID-19 Testing: Testing for the COVID-19 virus can be found at the Outpatient Clinic Entrance/MRI Entrance of the Medical Center. Testing is still administered as a drive-thru service. Upon arrival, call 937-257-0511, and one of the team members will come to your car. Appointments are required for COVID-19 testing. They can be made by calling 937-257-SHOT or by using the TRICARE Online (TOL) portal. In addition, at-home COVID-19 tests are available for TRCIARE beneficiaries at no cost. In order to pick up an at-home test kit you must make an appointment through TOL. Pick-up of the tests is also located at the outpatient entrance.

COVID-19 Vaccine: Schedule an appointment for your COVID-19 vaccine or booster by visiting https://informatics-stage.health.mil/COVAX/ or call 937-257-SHOT. Vaccines for persons age 12 and up take place in the Immunizations Clinic while vaccines for ages 6 months to 4 years and ages 5 years to 11 years take place in the Pediatric Clinic. All COVID-19 vaccines are administered by appointment only. You must meet eligibility requirements for booster doses.

Retiree Appreciation Day - Oct. 28 at the Hope Hotel

Retiree Appreciation Day links attendees with various services and agencies, including the 88th Medical Group, Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Ohio Department of Veterans Services. Opening ceremony is at 8:30 a.m. with comments from 88 ABW leadership. Lunch is "on-your-own" through Packy’s. Vendor tables will open around noon. National Public Lands Day – Fri., Oct. 14 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Wright Memorial - Volunteers needed! The 88th CEG is looking for volunteers to help plant native oak trees at Wright Memorial. Oak trees provide vital winter shelter to pollinator populations and they support hundreds of different species of pollinators. A senior base leader will offer opening remarks. 2022 Pumpkin Chuck - Sat., October 15 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. - The AFLCMC Engineering Directorate is pleased to announce that the 17th Annual Pumpkin Chuck is on! Mark your calendars! This year's event will be held on the grounds of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. There will be competitive pumpkin launching, with high-powered Class A machines (as seen on TV), but there will also be Class B launch machines (launching two pound pumpkins), a Class C human-powered launcher (enter your four-person team on the day of the event to compete). There will be STEM activities for the kids and food trucks if you're hungry… fun for the whole family! This event is free and open to the public. Base Thrift Shop

Inflation has hit many places, but not your Base Thrift Shop. We are here to meet the needs of our military community. Stop by to shop, consign, or donate. Civilian Health Promotion Services - October 12 to 18

CHPS is offering FREE Cardiac Risk Profile screenings (Glucose/Cholesterol) and Observ Skin Analysis (this service by appointment only) to DoD Civilians only, body composition screenings (Bodpod/Inbody) and blood pressure screenings to DoD Civilians and active duty personnel. Exchange Gift Wrapping – Every weekend from Nov. 12 to Dec. 24 

Looking to raise funds for your unit’s holiday party? Your Wright-Patterson Exchange Main Store is hosting a gift-wrapping station this Holiday Season for base organizations to collect donations. We provide the table and supplies – just show up and wrap! Slots are held in three to four hour intervals every weekend from Nov. 12 thru Dec. 24. Groups may sign up for more than one time slot. If you are interested in adding your base organization, please contact Alex Jones at 937-879-2711 or jonessam@aafes.com. All base fundraisers require approval through FSS and unit command, so please allow time for request to be fully processed.

Free Family Photos for Military Families Nov. 8 from 3 to 6 p.m.

The Military and Family Readiness Center is offering free family portraits for Wright-Patt military families at their center, Bldg. 2, room 244. The photo sessions are first come, first served. Photos will be sent digitally to the email address provided. Event POCs are Sydney Higginbotham (sydney.higginbotham@us.af.mil) and Shonte Gonzalez (shonte.gonzalez@us.af.mil).

West Springfield Street, from Northcliff to Harshman Road is under construction until November 1. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times. Construction will resume again in April through September 2023.

Harshman Road, from Springfield Street to Airway Road, will be under construction for wall repairs beginning September 12 through the end of December, weather permitting. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained. Expect traffic delays.

History and Heritage Race Series: November

The featured Aircraft for November is the C-47 Skytrain. Sign up now to receive the featured aircraft swag! Space Force T-Minus 10-Miler: December 10

Register for our inaugural event here today! Veterans, retired military, active duty, reservists, National Guard, and ROTC of all branches will be offered a military discount of $5 off the in-person event. Space is limited in the inaugural in-person and virtual events. This 10 mile race will be a part of the Space Force birthday celebration each year, and will take place surrounded by space launch history. The 2022 featured rocket of the Space Force T-Minus 10-Miler will be the RTV-G-4 Bumper! The featured rocket will be portrayed on the official race shirts, finisher medals, commemorative patches, and more throughout 2022. We understand life can be unexpected and plans change. That is why we offer a deferral option for the Space Force T-Minus 10-Miler event. You may defer your 2022 registration to 2023 for just $15. A new Immersive Exhibit has launched at the museum!  Go 'Above and Beyond'

This new, interactive exhibit features flight simulation, immersive theater, touch-table displays and augmented reality as examples of exhibit technology and offers an experiential understanding of the scientific concepts behind flight. 'Above and Beyond' is FREE for all visitors and open during regular museum hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. This exhibit will be here through Dec. 15.
