Military working dog retires

MHS GENESIS: The Wright-Patterson Medical Center will be implementing a new electronic health record this June. TRICARE beneficiaries should do the following in preparation for MHS GENESIS:

Pharmacy Services: After receiving a new prescription from an on-base provider, try the Q-Anywhere Activation Process – text “Get in Line” to 877-909-2578 and follow the steps. For prescription refills or to activate a new prescription from an off-base provider call 937-656-1656 before making the drive to the Kittyhawk Pharmacy.

COVID-19 Testing: Testing for the COVID-19 virus can be found at the Outpatient Clinic Entrance/MRI Entrance of the Medical Center. The test currently being used is the rapid fire test which is a combination test for COVID, Flu and RSV. Testing is still administered as a drive-thru service. Upon arrival, call 937-257-0511, and one of the team members will come to your car. Appointments are required for COVID-19 testing. They can be made by calling 937-257-SHOT or by using the TRICARE Online (TOL) portal. Hours are 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on normal duty days (subject to change).

Prince & Princess Ball

Sat., March 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. - Wright-Patt Club – Treat your prince or princess to a magical night of music, dancing, food and fun! Coffee with a Cop – Friday, March 3 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Wright Field Leasing Office: Coffee with a Cop is a community event used to open the floor to questions from base housing residents to SF. In addition to free coffee, the 88th Security Forces Squadron will be hosting a Child ID Station. This station will allow parents to bring their children and collect fingerprints on a card. In the event authorities would need to locate a missing child, parents can give the card to the police. Child ID cards will be kept by the parents once fingerprinting is complete.

DAU is now offering select courses in a hybrid classroom setting. Students attend sessions at a designated time by connecting virtually OR coming to the physical classroom, while the instructor joins exclusively onsite and in the classroom.

The Wright-Patterson AFB Tax Center is open through March 17 for active duty personnel in ranks E1 through E6 and O1 and O2. AIR CAMP 2023 - Air Camp events have been announced online at aircampusa.org. All programs actively engage students (entering grades 4-12) and teachers (grades K-12 STEM content) in learning modules that are reflective of STEM in aviation and aeronautics with an emphasis on leadership, scholarship, and citizenship.  Scheduled programs include elementary student programs (entering grades 4-6 this fall) on a first come, first served basis while a complete application is required to be considered for selection to participate in all middle school programs (entering grades 7-9 this fall), high school programs (entering grades 10-12 this fall) and teacher programs (STEM content area grades K-12). There are two types of High School Events this summer; A National Camp this is 4 days, 3 nights in length, and A LOCAL EVENT THAT IS 4 DAYS, APPROXIMATELY 8 HOURS PER DAY FOR STUDENTS WHO WILL BE ENTERING GRADES 9, 10, 11 AND 12 AND WHO ARE DEPENDANTS OF SOMEONE WHO IS CURRENTLY, DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO WRIGHT PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE. THE HIGH SCHOOL EVENT FOR WPAFB FAMILIES IS SCHEDULED FOR JULY 10 to 13 AND WILL INCLUDE UP TO 44 FULL TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS. A highlight of all participants in middle school, high school, and teacher events is the opportunity to PILOT A REAL AIRPLANE! Register for the 27th Annual Air Force Marathon here! The 27th Annual Air Force Marathon is set for September 14 to 16, 2023. September 16 events include full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 3-person marathon relay, Fly! Fight! Win! Challenge Series, and Finish Line Festival at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. The Health & Fitness Expo will be held on September 14 and 15 at Wright State University Nutter Center with the 5K on the 15. The 27th Annual event will feature three aircraft; HH-60W Jolly Green II, MH-139 Grey Wolf, and UH-1N Huey. Register now here!

Group Run every Monday at Skeel Ave. - Join us every Monday at 4 p.m. on the Skeel Avenue running path on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (Area A) for the Air Force Marathon Group Run! All are welcome to run or walk the distance of your choice on the 2.2 mile out and back patch. Each way it 1.1 miles. A portable restroom is available onsite. Don't forget to bring your own hydration and nutrition as needed. See you Monday afternoons rain or shine!

USO Wright-Patt is now open on weekday evenings until 8 p.m. Volunteers needed to fill evening shifts! The WPAFB USO center is now open Tues thru Sat until 8 p.m. This includes the center café, game room, and all amenities. Service members and family members – stop by for a snack and a beverage, or to use our Wi-Fi, CAC-enabled computers, or gaming consoles. Come build connections or take a break at the USO!

To keep the USO center open with extended hours, we need to grow our roster of volunteers available to work evening shifts between 5 to 8:30 p.m. Do you have an evening free after work? Sign up to volunteer at volunteers.uso.org or stop by the center anytime for a chat. We’d love to have you join our team. The minimum commitment is one shift per month. Survival: The Exhibition is NOW OPEN: Come see what all the talk is about at this new special exhibit! Adventure awaits museum visitors of all ages with this new exhibit offering an interactive, informative and safe place to learn and test essential survival skills. This exhibit is FREE and will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The FREE exhibit culminates in an optional   Adventure Zone Zip Line and Ropes course that will be accessible with the purchase of an Attractions Ticket from the Air Force Museum Foundation, this additional experience will be open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Museum Closure Wednesday, March 15: The museum will be closed on this day for Emergency Management Response Training (rescheduled from January). The museum campus will be closed throughout the day, but we will re-open at 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 16.

Plane Talks March 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in honor of Vietnam Veterans Day: Interact with various subject matter experts stationed in the Southeast Asia Gallery near the aircraft or exhibit that relates to their expertise. Experts include veterans, active duty, former pilots, crew members, engineers, navigators, and more.
