WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio --

Name and rank: Lejla Zejnilovic, GS-13

Duty title: Program manager

Unit of assignment: Engineering Division, 88th Civil Engineer Group, 88th Air Base Wing

What do you do at Wright-Patt?

I am a program manager in the Customer Planning section of the Engineering Division within the 88th Civil Engineer Group. In my role, I help several base customers facilitate their space and program requirements to meet their respective missions and strategic plans in alignment with Air Force objectives. I also act as a liaison between my customers, consultants, 88 CE and others across the base, working to ensure projects seamlessly transition through the various stages and result in positive outcomes and improved customer mission effectiveness.

Why are you and your job important to the Air Force and WPAFB?

I feel that my strong work ethic, dedication and over 25 years of diverse architectural, planning and sustainability expertise are a great complement to my role as program manager at Wright-Patterson AFB and reinforce not only the Mighty 88th mission of strength through support but also demonstrate the overarching Air Force values of integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do. As one of the largest Air Force installations in the United States, it’s critical that each customer’s mission is fulfilled and that each mission functions as part of a larger whole for a stronger, more resilient installation. Through building rapport and relationships with my customers--as well as with my 88 CE colleagues and other mission partners--I am able to better understand the nuances associated with each mission and therefore provide the best service to not only sustain them but also anticipate and plan for future needs.
