May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and this year's theme is "Advancing leaders through innovation." The 88th Air Base Wing's special observance committee for AAPI will host a free festival May 30 from noon to 3 p.m. at Jarvis Fitness Center on Area A. It will feature Asian food samplings, cultural events, resource booths and a bounce house. In line with this year's theme, the event will pay tribute to the generations of Asian American and Pacific Islanders who enriched the nation's history and continue to be pivotal in its success. The 88th Air Base Wing will host a series of Pride Month events throughout the end of May and the month of June to celebrate and recognize the diversity of civilian employees and service members across the Department of Defense.
