6/22/2011 - WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Capt. Andrew Pierce, 89th Airlift Squadron pilot, signs his name on the nose landing gear door on a C-5 Galaxy June 15. The crew delivered tail number 447 to its final resting place at the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group, also known as “The Boneyard,” Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., for permanent storage and retirement. The 309 AMARG will eventually prep and store C-5s from the 445th Airlift Wing that will not be reassigned to other airlift units. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Master Sgt. Michael Kalbfleisch)
