May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and this year's theme is "Advancing leaders through innovation." The 88th Air Base Wing's Special Observance Committee for AAPI will host a free festival May 30 from noon to 3 p.m. at Jarvis Fitness Center on Area A. It will feature Asian food samplings, cultural events, resource booths and a bounce house. In line with this year's theme, the event will pay tribute to the generations of Asian American and Pacific Islanders who enriched the nation's history and continue to be pivotal in its success. Col. Sean Brazel, 88th Mission Support Group commander, and Maj. Arild Stangenes, the Air Force Security Assistance Center’s Norwegian foreign liaison officer, welcomed more than 200 military members, veterans and dependents to this year's Norwegian Foot March on April 6 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
