Senior Airman Michael Mannozzi received Air Force Marathon medal
Senior Airman Michael Mannozzi, Air Force WCAP member, will be competing in the Olympic sport of racewalking. Mannozzi was selected as the Air Force Male Athlete of the Year in 2020 while he was an Airman 1st Class working in Religious Affairs at the 88th Air Base Wing Chaplain’s Office at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Mannozzi has been training in California, but has participated in various events to prepare and qualify for a chance to represent Team USA at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Still time to run or volunteer at the Air Force Marathon
The Air Force Marathon still has openings to register for the 5K on Friday, Sept. 20, or the 10K, half and full marathon on Sept. 21. Runners can also sign up for the Fly, Fight and Win Challenge by running in the 5K, 10K and the half or full marathon. In addition to receiving medals for each corresponding race, runners who participate in the challenge will also receive a special Fly Fight and Win Challenge medal. Opportunities are still available to volunteer at The Air Force Marathon Sept 19-21. Volunteers can help with pre-race preparations, the Sports and Fitness Expo and many other marathon activities. The marathon is also a perfect opportunity for a team-building event for groups such as civic groups, businesses or student organizations to volunteer as a group.
