AFRL researchers ‘twist’ yarns for electrical energy, power
Scientists at the Air Force Research Laboratory are exploring the use of carbon nanotube-based twistron yarns for energy generation. This twistron yarn image, captured by x-Ray tomography, is a 3-D rendering of the coiled nanotube fibers and provides information on the structures, defects and interfaces internal to the fibers at the nanoscale.
