Annual Prescribed Burn Historic Huffman Prairie
Firefighters with the U.S. Air Force Wildland Fire Branch Wildland Support Module, and 788th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department, use drip torches to set fire to parts of Huffman Prairie at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, as part of the annual prescribed burn, Nov. 12, 2020. The burn is done for agriculture reasons, as many plants need fire in order for them to procreate and thrive. This year’s burn included approximately 50 acres of the prairie.
