Holocaust survivor speaks to AFLCMC staff during Wingman Day event
Sam Heider, a Holocaust survivor, holds up a picture of his sister, who was killed by the Nazis, as he talks about his experiences during World War II during a presentation Oct. 19, 2018, at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center headquarters on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Heider managed to keep the photo with him and hidden throughout his imprisonment in German concentration camps. It is the only photo he has of any of his family members who all died in the Holocaust.
