As an Air Force combat logistics advisor embedded with the Royal Dragoon Guards, O'Sullivan (crouching in front) mentored and trained the Iraqi Army 14th Division. He was traveling in a British armored vehicle when an 80-lb. improvised explosively formed projectile hit, causing a traumatic brain injury. The Purple Heart recipient had to take medical retirement but continues to prove his resillience as he serves now at Wright-Patterson AFB as an instructor. (photo by Amy Rollins)
