Air Force Research Laboratory’s 711th Human Performance Wing employee, Dr. Jack Harris, research computer scientist and cognitive scientist for the 711 HPW’s Cognitive Models and Agents branch,  offers guidance to his summer intern, Nathan Neitman, a computer science student at Sinclair Community College. “This really expanded my research environment,” said Neitman, of his time in Harris’s lab at the 711th HPW, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Harris was recently awarded the AFMC-level DOD CIO award for individual accomplishment in calendar year 2014. Harris received the award for his work in developing computational capability that not only speeds the pace of cognitive modeling research, but fundamentally changes the level of complexity of research questions that can be asked – making this a true game changer for complex modeling and analysis.
