Three-year-old, Al-Amreeki**, was the victim of a stove fire Jan. 25 in his family’s home in the Salah ah Din province.  The fire left him with second and third degree burns covering 45 percent of his body, along with inhalation burns to his lungs.  Due to the severity of his burns, Iraqi doctors quickly determined his best chance for survival was with the U.S. Air Force Theater Hospital located at Balad Air Base, Iraq, where the boy has been under constant medical care since Jan. 25. He arrived at Cincinnati Lunken Field Airport late Friday night, March 21 and was transported by ambulance to the burn unit at The Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Cincinnati for treatment.
