Marathon training heats up in July
About 5,025 runners — and some walkers — start their journey for the finish line at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force during the 2006 U.S. Air Force Marathon. Those training for the 2007 marathon will need to "bump up mileage from previous long runs of 7-and-a-half to 9 miles” during July and August, according to Dr. James Schlub, exercise physiologist at the health and wellness center. “The long run will continue to increase by one mile a week hitting 12 miles by the end of the month,” he said.
