Lt Col (Dr.) Mark Duffy, Chief Operational Support Section of the Epidemiology Consult Service with the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM) conducts an investigation of the mosquito population during an outbreak of Zika virus on Yap Island. The virus was likely transmitted by mosquitoes. His paper on the investigation was recognized by the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID) division of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as an outstanding paper in the field of assessment in epidemiology on Aug 24, 2010.
