Immersive simulation from the inside looking out
A unique view of the 5-Meter Joint Terminal Attack Controller Training and Rehearsal System which showcased its integrated training capabilities at the 2010 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference in Orlando, Fla. Nov. 29 - Dec. 2, 2010. The system uses a highly immersive environment to help train JTACs who call in airstrikes. Integrated demonstrations at the conference linked Warfighter Readiness Research Division with partner technologies such as Remotely Piloted Aircraft mission training devices together with others, such as Joint Terminal Attack Controller and Airborne Warning and Control System trainers. The system was developed by researchers with the 711th Human Performance Wing, part of the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Bruce Liddil)
