WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- It’s all new and ready to be used.

The Dodge, Jarvis and Wright Field Fitness Centers have more than $1 million worth of new, state-of-the-art fitness equipment, according to Jan Gardner, Sustainment Services Flight Chief.

“Our programs are very important to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base community.  We help keep our Airmen in shape and ready to be deploying warriors,” Gardner said.

Installations of new equipment were completed in the Dodge and Jarvis Gyms in August. Wright Field Fitness Center had the new equipment installed in February.

All told, 317 new pieces of equipment have been installed in all three gyms replacing 264 older pieces.

Also, the outdoor half mile track in Area B has been resurfaced with a rubberized material that is better for runners.  This track is being certified by the USA Track and Field Federation for distance accuracy.

The Jarvis Gym remains a 24/7 facility for those with properly coded access cards.  Alisha Carr, Manager of Dodge and Jarvis Gyms said Airmen can get their Common Access Cards coded Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“I’m very proud that our staff worked so hard to move 31,500 pounds of equipment out of Dodge and Jarvis gyms in four days last month,” Gardner said.
