WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, OHIO --  The Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Consolidated Hobby Shop offers basic services for your automobile through the Auto Hobby Shop located next door.

The Auto Hobby Shop provides services such as tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation, and suspension work. The shop provides the tools you need except for specialty tools for BMW and Audis.

According to Laura Bush, director of the Consolidated Hobby Complex, customers may call her shop with information concerning the repairs they need. Communication with the patrons is important to make sure the mechanics and customers are on the same page.

The customer provides the make and model and the auto shop personnel will see if they are able to do the repairs or the customers may do the repairs themselves.

Self-service or do it yourself is very popular, and the auto shop provides the customer with the information they need to complete the repairs. Two full-time mechanics and one helper are available on site to assist with repairs if needed.

The Auto Hobby shop is located in the Kittyhawk area, Building 1227, Area A.  The shop is open Tuesday & Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Saturday the shop is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There are up to 25 vehicle bays that may be rented for a day, week or month. There is a fenced storage area for cars, trucks or RVs.

There is also a resell lot for anything with wheels. Personnel may sell vehicles from this lot for $30 a month registration fee.
