WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Outdoor Recreation facility located in Building 95 Area A is the central point for equipment rental, such as bikes, mowers, power washers, bouncy houses, fishing poles, tents, lanterns, sleeping bags, cook stoves, kayaks, canoes, fishing boats, life vests and campers.

Outdoor Recreation has more than 179 different items you can rent from 24 hours to 3 days at very reasonable prices, according to director Brandon Dixon.

“You can rent any item here and see how you like it before going out and spending a lot of cash buying seasonal summer equipment,” he added.

Outdoor Recreation is open year round but summer season begins on Memorial Day in May and extends to Labor Day in September.  The summer hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  In the summer the facility is also open on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Another asset of Outdoor Recreation is its youth camp for Girl and Boy Scout groups, and Famcamp “campers” which includes 40 hookups and 14 overflow hookups.  There is a full service bath house for anyone who camps and is located near Bass Lake in Area A.

Outdoor Recreation also manages 3 swimming pools.  The 50 meter pool is located at the Prairies.  The second outdoor pool is just behind the Banquet Club and the third one is the

indoor pool at Dodge Gym which opens after Labor Day.
