Cookie bakers who have a soft spot in their hearts for hungry Airmen will want to note Dec. 3 on their calendars. That's when the 13th annual Airman's Holiday Cookie Drive at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base has been set to take place at the Community and Airmen Center, Bldg. 1222, Kittyhawk Center.

Cookie donations can be dropped off at the CAC from 6 to 11:30 a.m. There will be curbside drop-off.

"This event allows base personnel and the surrounding communities to express their holiday generosity to our local, unaccompanied Airmen in the form of home-baked treats," said Neko Michelle Gonnella, 2013 Airman's Cookie Drive coordinator. "Last year, about 1,000 dozen cookies were delivered to our Airmen."

Donation pledges should be e-mailed to Wrightpatt cookies@yahoo.com.  Any questions or offers to volunteer to box cookies can also be directed to this email address.

Bakers are asked to label their cookie donations if they contain "no nuts" or "no gluten" so they can be included in the boxes for those Airmen with specific allergies - if possible, a complete list of ingredients is preferable.

All donations should be delivered in disposable packaging.

This event is co-sponsored by Spouses In Action, the Officers' Spouses' Club, the Airmen and Family Readiness Center and the Community and Airmen Center
