Wright-Patterson to host partnership event Feb. 20

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio --  Base officials are inviting interested community leaders to participate in a kick-off for a major new partnership effort. The Wright-Patterson Community Partnership Day will take place Feb. 20 at Holiday Inn, 2800 Presidential Drive, Fairborn, Ohio.

This initial meeting is part of a process to develop strategic partnerships and implement agreements. This meeting is focused on identifying installation and community needs and capabilities that benefit all. Community partnership day will include two sessions.

   · At 8 a.m., an Enhanced Use Lease briefing will explain the Enhanced Use Lease process and identify specific parcels of land on Wright-Patterson AFB being offered for potential development.

Enhanced Use Lease is a lease of "non-excess" government property to a lessee in exchange for cash and/or in kind consideration. A request for interest on available parcels will be published on the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov). 

   · At noon, a partnerships overview briefing will explain the service's partnering objectives and process. After the overview, facilitated breakout sessions will focus Air Force and community participants on learning about each other and generating partnership ideas.

Partnerships are formal agreements between government and/or private sector entities that leverage resources to achieve efficiencies or reduce costs and realize shared value.

"The Air Force is seeking new partnerships to leverage military installation and local community capabilities and resources to reduce operating and service costs which support the community as well as the Air Force mission," said Col. Cassie Barlow, 88th Air Base Wing commander.
