Air Force Marathon 5K sells out Published April 4, 2014 By Tiffany Johnson Air Force Marathon Office WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The Air Force Marathon 5K has sold out 6 weeks earlier than last year and the half marathon has less than 500 slots remaining. "We are so excited to see how fast the races are selling out," said Rob Aguiar, race director. "The 10K already sold out 7 weeks earlier than last year." The 5K sold out on April 2, when the price increased. The half marathon is expected to sell out soon as well. The full marathon is about 65 percent full. "Anyone interested in running the half marathon should register immediately," he added, "We always get phone calls from people who want into a race after we close-out." Prices for the full and half marathons are currently $95 and $80 respectively. The Air Force Marathon, presented by Northrop Grumman, USAA and Boeing, will be held Sept. 20 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Participants start and finish at the National Air Force Museum, and spectators are welcome at the museum or in downtown Fairborn. The Air Force Marathon 5K is held at Wright State University's Nutter Center on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014. The Air Force Marathon, presented by Northrop Grumman, USAA and Boeing, will be Saturday, September 20, 2014. The Sports & Fitness Expo is held at Wright State University's Nutter Center and will be Thursday, September 18, and Friday, September 19.
