Devillier to succeed Barlow as commander Published May 6, 2014 By 88 Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Col. John Devillier will take command of the 88 Air Base Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base during a change of command ceremony scheduled for July 17 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. He will succeed Col. Cassie Barlow, the current 88 ABW commander, who is retiring from the Air Force after a 26-year career. She has served as 88 ABW commander since July 17, 2012. Lt. Gen. C. D. Moore II, commander of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, will preside over the ceremony. Devillier will command one of the largest air base wings in the Air Force with more than 5,000 Air Force military, civilian, and contractor employees. The wing provides support and services to one of the largest, most diverse, and most organizationally complex bases in the Air Force including a major acquisition center, research and development laboratories, a major command headquarters, an airlift wing, and the world's largest military air museum. The base is home to more than 27,000 employees and is the largest single site employer in the state of Ohio. Currently Devillier serves as the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations commander at Dover AFB, Del.
