Off-base construction may impact commute

The segment of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base's work force that commutes to and from the base via Colonel Glenn Highway may be affected by an upcoming construction project.

Fairborn officials have scheduled a project along Colonel Glenn Highway -- from Paramount Place to University Drive -- beginning May 7. This project will include repaving the roadway, correcting drainage issues and building new concrete median islands.

Construction will take place in a number of phases. Access to all the intersections will be maintained with the exception of Executive Park Boulevard, which will be closed for much of June.

Officials say the projected completion date is Nov. 27.
