Ward Reilly Leadership Award for his dedication and leadership skills as a Civil Air Patrol (CAP) squadron commander in Las Vegas recently. According to the CAP regulation, this annual award was established by the late Brig. Gen. F. Ward Reilly's family, former CAP national board chairman. Geiss' CAP unit, Mount Vernon Composite Squadron, earned squadron of distinction awards at the region and national level , for which Geiss was recognized with the leadership award as the unit commander. Geiss believes it's important for senior leaders to be involved in the Air Force auxiliary and lead by doing. "It was a tremendous honor for me to accept the award on behalf of our squadron members and their dedicated service to the CAP missions," said Geiss.
