AFIT Dean Wins AETC National Public Service Award Published Aug. 28, 2014 By Katie Scott AFIT/ENWF WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Oh. -- Dr. Adedeji B. Badiru, Dean, Graduate School of Engineering and Management, has been selected as the AETC winner of the 2015 National Public Service Award. The American Society for Public Administration and the National Academy of Public Administration proudly established this award to honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions and whose accomplishments can be viewed as models of public service within and outside the work environment. This award recognizes individuals with agency-wide responsibility who exhibit the highest standards of excellence, dedication, and accomplishment over a sustained period of time and who are creative and highly skilled career managers at all levels of the public service. Under Dr. Badiru's leadership, the Graduate School implemented a strategic focus on research and academic programs that effected significant improvements in program performance, visibility and engagement, and faculty and student recognition that led to major advancements in addressing critical Air Force and Department of Defense needs. His efforts have been critical to enhancing AFIT's reputation consistent with the goal of achieving national prominence. Dr. Badiru is a Professor of Systems Engineering and previously served as Head of the Department of Systems Engineering and Management within AFIT's graduate school for seven years. Dr. Badiru earned his PhD in Industrial Engineering from University of Central Florida. His research interests include mathematical modeling, project modeling and analysis, economic analysis, and productivity analysis and improvement.
