Paving projects set to begin Oct. 27 in Areas A, B

There are three paving projects that will be starting in Area A over the next couple of weeks. First, starting on Oct. 27, work will begin on Kuglic Boulevard from near Gate 15A to Barnes Park.

The project, which will include resurfacing the roadway and replacing deteriorated curb, is scheduled for completion by Nov. 14.

Next, work in Parking Lot 1A (outside Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command) will be done in two phases, each involving half the lot. Phase 1 begins Nov. 3 and will be complete by Nov. 12 November. Phase 2 will start immediately after Phase 1   is complete and is scheduled to be finished by Nov. 28.

Lastly, a project on Locust Street will begin on Nov. 3. This project includes widening and resurfacing Locust Street along with extending the road to create a new intersection with Spruce and a second access point into Kittyhawk Center. The completion date of this project is Dec. 12.

There will be no longterm closures or detours, but there may be short-term lane closures for the safety of the construction crew and motorists.   Flaggers will be present to safely move traffic around the paving crews. Motorists are asked to use caution in the work zones.

Area B paving projects

There are two paving   projects that will be starting in Area B soon. First, on Oct. 27 work will begin on Fifth Street from Skyline Drive to Hobson Way. The project will include resurfacing the roadway and realigning traffic lanes and is scheduled for completion by Nov. 10.

There will be no longterm closures during this project ,and flaggers will be present to safely move traffic around the crews.

Starting on Nov. 3, a resurfacing project on D Street from Fifth Street to Monohan Way will begin. This project also includes curb and sidewalk replacement. The road will be closed (and parking restricted) from Nov. 8 through Nov. 11 with the   road back open to normal traffic and parking on Nov. 12.

The overall project will be complete Nov. 21. Refer to the map below for more information.
