AF website/app highlights base programs, activities Published Nov. 7, 2014 By Kirsten Rice 88th Force Support Squadron Marketing Staff WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is one of many bases within the Air Force featured on the My Air Force Life website or app. This app highlights events happening within Wright-Patterson's 88th Force Support Squadron. On My Air Force Life one can find information on almost all of the programs and upcoming events within the Force Support Squadron, such as the holiday tree lighting, recreational opportunities, Air Force club membership rewards program and other activities. This is a new way for those to access all of our facilities events, locations and hours of operation at your fingertips. To access the website go to myairforcelife.com and select Wright-Patterson as the base location. To download the application onto a mobile device or tablet, visit the Google play store or the iTunes app store and look for the My Air Force Life app. Upcoming and ongoing programs This year the Wright-Patt Club will host the annual holiday tree lighting on Dec. 3, beginning at 5:30 p.m. After the lighting, the club will serve light refreshments. Following the ceremony, there will also be a surprise visit from a special guest. This tree lighting is open to all base personnel and their families. For more information, call 522-2160. Those interested in bowling will find that Kittyhawk Lanes continues to host regularly scheduled programs, such as the Eat and Exercise lunch, and the Wednesday and Thursday night specials. The Eat and Exercise program runs Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For $8 one can bowl two games, receive free shoe rental and a $4 lunch ticket for the snack bar. On Wednesdays from 4 to 8 p.m., for $5 one can bowl 3 games. On Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m. all games are $2, and shoe rentals are $1. Kitty-hawk Lanes will offer the holiday bowling special Dec. 26-31. Bowl for a $1.50 per game with $1 shoes rental. Youth Sports will begin registration for basketball Nov. 14. Practice will begin Dec. 1, and games will start Jan. 10. Those ages 5 to 18 can participate in youth sports. The school age programs provide transportation from Beverly Gardens Elementary, Fairborn Intermediate, Wright Campus, Virginia Stevens Elementary, Mad River Middle School and Spinning Hills Elementary to Youth Programs located in Bldg. 6933. Daily activities are planned as well as opportunities to participate in 4-H and Boys and Girls Club of America events. Before-and-after-school programs are available for children ages kindergarten to 12 years old. For more information, call 656-8688. Club members can enter into the Air Force club membership drive for a chance to win prizes. This year the grand prize is a 2015 Chevy Silverado.
