AF Marathon opens registration for 2015 events with discounts at midnight Jan. 1 Published Dec. 19, 2014 By Rick Perron Air Force Marathon WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Registration for the 2015 Air Force Marathon will open at midnight EST on Jan. 1 with special New Year's resolution discounts. Participants who register online on Jan. 1 will save $10 on a full or half marathon registration and $5 on the 10K or 5K races. Participants can also buy tickets for the gourmet pasta dinner or Breakfast of Champions, starting Jan. 1 as well. The breakfast will be held Sept. 18 at the Holiday Inn Dayton, Fairborn, and features a panel discussion with running experts. The gourmet pasta dinner will be held the evening of Sept. 18 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force and features a catered meal as well as guest speakers, live entertainment and access to the aviation museum. The featured speakers have not yet been determined. For the second year, there will also be 100 pro packages for sale. The pro package includes preferred race day parking, access to a VIP tent that features private restrooms and snacks, a gourmet pasta dinner ticket, a Breakfast of Champions ticket and a 10-minute post-race massage. Last year's event sold out in May 2014. The number of runners in 2015 will stay the same, with participation capped at 15,000. Costs for the gourmet pasta dinner are $25 for adults; $12 for children 6 to 10; free for children 5 and younger. Pro Packages are $125, but does not include race registration. The Air Force Marathon, presented by Northrop Grumman, USAA and Boeing, will be Sept. 19. The Sports & Fitness Expo is held at Wright State University's Nutter Center and will be Sept. 17-18.
