Continue to make Wright-Patt the best place to live, work and play Published Jan. 9, 2015 By Col. John Devillier 88th Air Base Wing commander WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE -- As we look back over 2014, we should all be proud of the many successes and accomplishments the Wright-Patt Team achieved. From surviving an unusually cold and snowy winter, to individual and unit award recognitions, to a successful year-end close-out, Air Force Marathon, and first-ever three-day aviation fest where we represented the Air Force at Hometown Heroes at the Fraze, hosted Freedom's Call, and witnessed the return of an aerial demonstration team to the Dayton Airshow, to being the cost conscience of the Air Force as we support the warfighter, the list is endless. But, as we look back proudly at what we've done, we should also look forward and resolve to do even better. While we can all resolve to eat less, exercise more, get things in order, etc., we should all resolve to continue to make Wright-Patt the best place to live, work and play. We can all do our part to ensure the success of our diverse missions and our Air Force. As a start, I offer the following resolutions for you to consider in your day-to-day activities: Resolve to be a good Airman ... and an even better wingman; Resolve to live by our core competencies -- integrity, service before self, and excellence in all we do -- in everything you do; Resolve to make safety a priority -- at work and at home; Resolve to be "fit"; Resolve to spend time with family and friends; Resolve to treat others with dignity, honor and respect; And finally, resolve to make a difference. While 2015 may present its own set of challenges, I am confident that each Wright-Patt member will step up and meet those challenges head on. You make a difference every day, and I know you will continue to do so in 2015. Happy New Year!
