Fisher/Nightingale Houses Inc. hosted its 12th annual "An All-American Evening" April 25 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. With a theme of "... Through the Years" the evening celebrated the organization's 25th anniversary and served as a fundraiser to support the wounded, injured and ill military men and women who stay in the two Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Fisher Houses.

Preliminary numbers for the event (subject to change and late donations) indicate the event raised more than $79,000.

Produced in partnership with the Air Force Association Wright Memorial Chapter 212 and Miami Valley Military Affairs Association, the evening featured gourmet food stations, entertainment by Dan Edwards, with Jim Bucher serving as master of ceremonies, and live music by Moment's Notice.

Both silent and live auction items were donated by community members and businesses, and Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly conducted the live auction.

Wright-Patterson AFB's Fisher Houses assisted more than 1,100 current and retired service members and their families in 2014 and more than 20,000 in the last 25 years, providing an opportunity for military families to stay together for physical and emotional support while undergoing medical treatment. No taxpayer money has ever been used for the Fisher Houses' expenses or support of the guests.
