Hot Summer Calls for a Cool Pool Published June 12, 2015 By W. Eugene Barnett 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The school year has recently finished and the pool at the Prairies is ready for swimmers. Lifeguards and office managers are on hand and ready for the public to cool off with a dip in the pool. The smaller portion of the pool is ideal for small children and is completely fenced in. The larger pool area has eight lanes and a diving board to the northeast area of the pool. Soon to come are movie nights where the staff uses an inflatable movie screen and serves free popcorn. Pool parties are a favorite, too, and users can reserve a time slot for your special event. The pool is open noon to 7 p.m. Passes are now available for purchase at the pool from 3-6 p.m. Prairies pool is located on Chapel Lane, near Prairie Housing.
