Two Airmen awarded the AF Achievement Medal Published Feb. 10, 2016 By Gina Marie Giardina 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Two Airmen from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base were awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal Jan. 26. Senior Airman Katlyn Pascucci and Senior Airman John Lucic, while hiking in the Redwood Forrest in Northern California, used their Air Force training to help a woman who had been kidnapped, had her hands bound, and later found to have been sexually assaulted. Col. Timothy Ballard, 88th Medical Group commander, commended Pascucci and her "wingman-leader-warrior ethos" in the citation for the medal. Pascucci is assigned to the Wright-Patterson Medical Center as a physical therapy assistant. Maj. David Celeste, 88th Security Forces Squadron commander, commended Lucic for using his security forces training to not only call 911, but to also maintain the scene to preserve evidence while comforting the victim. Lucic is a unit scheduler in SFS. Col. John Devillier, the 88th Air Base Wing commander, presented both Airmen with the medals.
