Base officials, the Wright-Patterson Junior Force Council and the Dayton-Wright Chapter Young AFCEANs of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, began the final phase of the construction of the Wright-Patterson AFB Fallen Warrior Memorial Park, April 27.

The park, located in the Kittyhawk section of the base's Area A, is established to honor military members from the Miami Valley who lost their lives in service to the country. A plaque at the memorial reads, "Duty, Honor, Country. In Honor & Memory of our Fallen Heroes. Land of the Free, Because of the Brave."

Work is scheduled to continue through May and a June dedication ceremony is planned as the crowning event to finish the memorial.
