Band selects winning song Published June 27, 2016 By Laura McGowan 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Ohio -- Dr. Schneata Shyne-Turner has won the first "SongWrighting" contest with her original work, "Back Where I Belong." A panel of judges from the Air Force Band of Flight selected the winning entry. Shyne-Turner, a management and program analyst with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center is not a novice musician. "Both my husband and I have an extensive music background," said the songwriter, director and singer. "[We] have collaborated on writing several songs, and both are actively involved in the music ministry at New Season Ministry in Huber Heights." The Air Force Band of Flight's Systems Go and Wright Brass will perform Shyne-Turner's winning song during a concert at the Fraze Pavillion in Kettering, Ohio, July 6. The concert is free and open to the public.
