Taps plays at 10:00 p.m. indicating the end of the day and quiet hours. No action is required. Retreat Retreat plays at the end of the duty day Monday - Friday at 5 p.m. Stop. Stop all activity if outside Face in the direction of the flag or music Stand at parade rest if in uniform National Anthem (Immediately follows retreat) Stand at attention and salute if in uniform If civilian, put your hand over your heart and take off your hat In a vehicle or building?
