Incident Involving Wright-Patt Personnel Under Investigation

WRIGHT- PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations are investigating three deaths that occurred between the evening of October 24 and the morning of October 25, 2025. The deaths, which impacted several locations around Dayton, have deeply affected both the military community and local residents.

“We are deeply saddened by this tragic event, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones affected. We stand with them as they navigate this unimaginable pain, and we offer our sincerest condolences to all impacted by this heartbreaking loss,” said Lt Gen Linda Hurry, Deputy Commander, Air Force Materiel Command. “We are committed to fully investigating this incident and ensuring the families and co-workers of the victims receive the support they need during this difficult time.”

Ongoing Investigation

Specific details cannot be shared at this time, as the investigation is ongoing. The confirmed deceased are 1st Lt Jaime Gustitus, 25, who worked in 711th Human Performance Wing, part of the Air Force Research Laboratory; Mrs. Jaymee Prichard, 33, who worked within the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center; and Mr. Jacob Prichard, 34, also part of the Air Force Research Laboratory.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and other local law enforcement agencies.

Support for Families and Community

The Air Force and local authorities are providing counseling services and support to all individuals impacted by the tragedy. The families and friends of the victims will be offered resources through the Air Force’s Casualty Assistance Office, the Air Force Employee Assistance Program, and the Chaplain’s Office to help them navigate this difficult time.
