WRIGHT- PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – The installation is conducting a multi-day, base-wide exercise focused on anti-terrorism and base sustainment procedures through July 18. This exercise is designed to evaluate readiness, enhance response capabilities, and ensure the safety and security of all personnel.

Residents of surrounding communities and personnel on the base should anticipate the following temporary changes and impacts during the exercise period:
• Congested traffic entering and exiting the installation due to potential gate and lane closures, as well as heightened security screenings. Individuals are encouraged to plan to arrive early for appointments and call-in advance to ensure services are not impacted.
• Temporary road closures around the installation to simulate emergency conditions.
• Sights and sounds of an exercise, such as simulated gunfire and an increased presence of armed Airmen.
• Enhanced security measures throughout the base.
• Activation of the base’s “Giant Voice” public address system and other alert sirens.
• Use of electronic notification systems to disseminate exercise-related information.

Because this is an exercise, individuals are reminded not to call 911 or other emergency telephone numbers with related concerns. Emergency response agencies and dispatch centers from nearby communities were notified of the event by exercise planners.
