WPAFB to conduct anti-terrorism exercise Published July 11, 2025 By Zion Dillahunt WRIGHT- PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The installation will conduct a multi-day base-wide exercise focused on anti-terrorism and base sustainment procedures from July 10-18. This exercise is designed to evaluate readiness, enhance response capabilities, and ensure the safety and security of all personnel. Residents of surrounding communities and personnel on the base should anticipate the following temporary changes and impacts during the exercise period: • Increased traffic and delays at base entry gates due to heightened security screenings • Temporary road closures around the installation to simulate emergency conditions • Enhanced security measures throughout the base • Activation of the base’s “Giant Voice” public address system and other alert sirens • Use of electronic notification systems to disseminate exercise-related information Because this is an exercise, individuals are reminded not to call 911 or other emergency telephone numbers with related concerns. Emergency response agencies and dispatch centers from nearby communities were notified of the event by exercise planners.
