‘Hiring Our Heroes’ career summit coming to Wright-Patt Published March 21, 2025 By Meghan Howard 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Since 2019, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base has hosted the Hiring Our Heroes Career Summit at the Hope Hotel & Richard C. On April 24, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the event returns to the community bringing in 50 employers, offering available positions. Stacia Wren, community readiness consultant with the 88th Force Support Squadron said, “I’m really hoping to make an impact into the community. It’s important that we help our transitioning members. With Hiring our Heroes, they do more than just job fairs; they do skill building and help make connections with a lot of people locally and nationally.” Event Highlights: Learning Opportunities: Gain insights into fellowships and internships, upskilling and reskilling programs, professional development specifically for military spouses, and effective LinkedIn strategies for veterans and military spouses. Networking and Job Insights: Meet directly with representatives from military-friendly companies actively hiring both locally and nationwide. Receive valuable advice and insider tips from experienced hiring managers and recruiters. Workshops: Attend informative Job Seeker Workshops from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring expert presentations on compensation and negotiation strategies, SkillBridge and training programs, and interview preparation. Hiring Fair: Participate in a dedicated career fair from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., where job seekers can network directly with representatives from organizations across various industries, including Administration, Cyber/IT, Defense Contracting, and Healthcare/Medical. Registration: This event is FREE and open to active-duty service members, National Guard, veterans, and military spouses. Participants are encouraged to register in advance to hold a spot.
