Airman acquitted at court-martial Published July 24, 2007 By Area Defense Counsel WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE -- During a special court-martial convened July 10 at Wright-Patterson AFB, a senior airman from the 88th Medical Operations Squadron was found not guilty of a charge of assault consummated by a battery against a female Airman from the 88th Surgical Operations Squadron. After hearing the testimony of five witnesses, instructions on the law and closing arguments by counsel from both sides, a panel of officer and enlisted members deliberated for just under one hour and found the senior airman not guilty. If found guilty, the senior airman faced a maximum possible sentence of confinement for up to six months, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, reduction to the grade of E-1 and a bad conduct discharge.
