Kittyhawk Chapter 751 of the Air Force Sergeants Association continued its award winning trend at the AFSA Professional Airmen's Conference August 22 in Orlando, Fla, garnering Newsletter of the Year award in the large chapter category. The award is presented annually for excellence in publication.

The chapter was also selected as the runner-up for the Chapter of the Year award.

"Last year, the executive council looked at ways to better communicate with our members. That led to a renewed emphasis on publishing a
quality newsletter, the Kittyhawk Flyer, on a consistent basis," said Chapter President, retired Chief Master Sgt. Ruben Garcia. "It is truly a team effort to get chapter news to over 3,000 members each quarter and it's very gratifying that the association recognized those efforts."

A number of individual Chapter 751 members were also recognized during the national event.

Retired Chief Master Sgt. Andy Anderson was elected as the association's Trustee for Veteran and Retiree Affairs. Staff Sgt. Robert Moore, National Air and Space Intelligence Center, competed for the First Term Airmen of the Year award and Tech. Sgt. Stacie Parsons, 88th Medical Operations Squadron, competed for the AFSA Member of the Year award. Senior Airman Kasee Henderson, recently assigned to the 88th Medical Operations Squadron, also competed for the First Term Airmen of the Year award, representing Chapter 658 from Little Rock Air Force Base.
