U.S. Air Force Marathon Week kicks off Published Sept. 11, 2007 By Rachel Castle 88 ABW Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Officials at Wright-Patterson are gearing up for their largest race to date. "We have 5829 registrants and the numbers continue to climb," Molly Louden, U.S. Air Force Marathon director, said. "We are thrilled with the numbers of people who are coming out to help us commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the United States Air Force," she said. Event schedule: -Thursday and Friday, noon-7 p.m.: Sports and Fitness Exposition at Ervin J. Nutter Center, featuring vendors, celebrity running clinics, runner packet pick-up and Pace team sign-up. Awards will begin at 6:30 p.m. Media should call Rachel Castle 937-522-3520 to RSVP. -Saturday, 7 a.m.: Opening ceremonies for the eleventh annual U.S. Air Force Marathon begin at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Media credential required for this event - call Rachel Castle 937-522-3520 by noon Friday to RSVP. Sign in upon arrival at the DV/media tent located at the finish line to receive credential. Escorted course rides will be given throughout the event. Media parking will be on the north side of the Museum grounds.
