Base officials announce that the Reduction-in-Force notices issued to 96 civilian employees on June 15 become effective today.

As a result of the RIF process, 17 employees will receive change to lower grades and 53 will be reassigned to a new position. The remaining 26 employees, who received RIF notices have either retired, resigned or were placed on a position outside of the RIF process.

According to Eric Dilworth, civilian personnel director, 33 notices of separation were issued in June.

"Through the diligent efforts of the Civilian Personnel Flight staff and organizational managers, we were able to offer all employees a position for continued employment," said Mr. Dilworth.

Programmatic manpower reductions and skills imbalances across organizations drove force reductions that abolished approximately 279 positions last year.

Mr. Dilworth said voluntary early retirements and separation incentives in October 2006 through January 2007 helped reduce the adverse impact to employees.
