AFRL computer engineer wins 2007 Harry G. Armstrong Scientific Excellence Award Published Jan. 22, 2008 By John Schutte Human Effectiveness Directorate WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Dr. Douglas Brungart, principal computer engineer with the Air Force Research Laboratory's Human Effectiveness Directorate (AFRL/RH), Warfighter Interface Division, Battlespace Acoustics Branch (RHCB), received the Harry G. Armstrong Scientific Excellence Award for 2007 at the AFRL/RH Annual Awards Banquet held January 18 at the Wright-Patt Club. Dr. Brungart was selected for his revolutionary technical developments in spatial auditory interfaces and speech communication technologies. The Armstrong Award, which commemorates Maj. General Armstrong's pioneering career in aerospace medicine research at Wright-Patterson AFB, is given annually for the Human Effectiveness Directorate's most significant scientific or technical accomplishment. Simultaneous ceremonies were held at AFRL/RH research sites at Brooks City-Base, Texas and Mesa, Arizona. Other winners for 2007 include: David M.
