WPAFB Ghost Hunters episode to air Wednesday Published April 7, 2008 By Rachel Castle 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Ghost Hunters fans will now have a chance to decide for themselves whether one of the Air Force's oldest installations is haunted. Wright-Patterson will go prime time when the base's premiere episode airs Wednesday, April 9 at 9 and 11 p.m. on the Sci-Fi Channel, as part of the all-new fourth season of the show. The show was filmed on location for two weeks at the beginning of January and editors in Los Angeles have been working ever since to get it ready for it's debut. "We are really looking forward to the episode," said Col. Colleen Ryan, 88 ABW Commander. "This was such a great opportunity for us to get the Air Force and Wright-Patterson messages out to a young, technically-savvy audience within our ideal recruiting age." Ghost Hunters is currently the number-one reality show on cable television, and pulls in an average audience of 2-3 million viewers per week between the ages of 18-49. Although the show has filmed several former military sites, the Wright-Patterson episode features the first time the show has filmed an investigation at an active military installation. During the episode, The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS), will investigate three sites - Building 70, a large WWII-era warehouse, Building 219, a WWII-era hospital and former pediatric clinic, and the Arnold House, the oldest structure on the grounds of Wright-Patterson. The Arnold House was a family farm in 1840 before the government bought the property. "This has been a great investigation and probably one of our best," said TAPS founder Jason Hawes. As far as findings, military officials aren't talking. "We've been sworn to secrecy," Col. Ryan said. "We don't want to ruin the surprise. Regardless of any possible findings, I don't think viewers are going to be disappointed, our people here did a great job of showcasing our missions, and it should make for some exciting moments," she said. Ghost Hunters airs every Wednesday at 9 and 11 p.m. on the Sci-Fi Channel.
