Noted author and minister Don Piper will speak and participate in several events here and in the local area June 4 - 5.

The 88th Air Base Wing chapel staff is sponsoring his visit, said Chaplain (Capt.) Dwayne Jones. Jones said Piper is most well-known for his best selling book, 90 Minutes in Heaven. The book is an account of Piper's spiritual experiences associated with a serious traffic accident in which he was declared dead and then brought back to life to endure a long and painful healing process.

Several public events for Wright-Patterson affiliated people are planned the evening of June 4 at Fairborn High School Auditorium. A Gospel Concert begins at 6 p.m. Piper will speak from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. and sign books from 9:30 - 10 p.m.

A Prayer Breakfast and book signing June 5 begins 9 a.m. at Chapel 3. Cost for the breakfast is $5 and those who would like to attend are requested to call by May 30.

"Mr. Piper has a great message of hope to share," said Chaplain Jones. "He's brought his testimony to churches, universities and other organizations around the world. I invite people from across the base to join us in meeting and praying with him."
