Road and gate closures announced for U.S. Air Force Marathon

The U.S. Air Force Marathon will take place here Sept. 20th. Many roads, both on and off base, will be closed during the course of the race from approximately 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., and gate hours will change due to the event. 

We encourage motorists and visitors to plan their routes carefully and to be aware that there may be long delays and heavy traffic, especially in the early morning and late afternoon hours. This includes the roads around the National Museum of the United States Air Force and Fairborn.
 
Road Closures on Race Day include:

Area B
Loop Rd., Tenth St., Skyline Dr. and Hobson Way

Off Base: Dayton, Riverside, and Wright State University
Kauffman Rd., Wright State Rd, University Blvd, and SR 844, Northbound 444 from Springfield Pike to Kaufman Road, Northbound Springfield Pike from gate 1B to 444

Areas A & C
Communications Blvd., , Sacramento, Road "T", Road "M", Chidlaw Rd., Yount Dr., Schlatter Rd., Lahm Circle, Pearson Rd, Wright Ave. through gate 1C to Broad St.,., Buckner Rd., Sundorph Rd., Skeel Ave., Loop Rd., Douglas Rd., Mitchell Rd., Riverview Rd., Marl Rd. Pylon Rd., and Hebble Creek Rd.

Fairborn
Broad St., to Main St, to Pleasant St., to W. Xenia Dr., to N. Grand Ave.

Gate changes 
Gate 22B will close at 6 a.m. and Gate 19B or National Road Gate will open at 6 a.m. (if available) and remain open through 11a.m. 
At 11a.m.., Gate 22B will reopen and 19B or National Road Gate will be closed.  
Gate 12A will close at 6a.m. and Gate 8C will open at 6 a.m. and remain open through 12 pm. 
At 12 pm., Gate 12A will reopen and Gate 8C will close.
