Air Force Personnel Center briefing team coming to Wright-Patt Published Nov. 5, 2008 By Derek Kaufman 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Base Airmen and civilian employees wanting to learn about the latest personnel policy changes affecting them are invited to meet the Air Force Personnel Center commander and her "Spread the Word" briefing team Friday, Nov. 14. The briefing will start at 1 p.m. at the Kittyhawk Base Theater here. Maj. Gen. K.C. McClain initiated the Air Force-wide Spread the Word global tour to communicate changes and improvements in personnel, manpower and services management, AFPC officials at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas said. Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii was the first base visited by the team last month. The team plans to take their traveling show to bases across the Air Force into 2009. The outreach effort is designed to be two-way. Personnel officials both hope to educate the workforce on personnel transformation programs, address concerns via face-to-face contact with senior military and civilian personnel experts and solicit feedback. Specific topics to be addressed will include 365-day deployment options, the Global Air and Space Expeditionary Force tempo-banding deployment system, civilian hiring procedures, and assignment changes. Military and civilian assignments and deployment experts will be available for questions during the visit and after the briefing. "The Air Force is committed to developing and caring for our Airmen and civilian employees," said Capt. Kristi Gana, Military Personnel Flight commander with the 88th Mission Support Squadron. "We really can't make the Air Force better and improve our processes without your input. I encourage everyone who can to come to the briefing, meet the Spread the Word team and tell them what you think." For individual personnel questions, Air Force members should contact the Air Force Personnel Center Contact Center at (800) 616-3775.
